Hi, new to the forum, avid DIY.
Replaced mechanical water pump and heat management module about 30 days ago after a coolant leak was found. about a week later the car showed a fault code heat management module open outside tolerance, so I decided to replace the coolant temperature sensor. After removing the intake plenum and replacing the part I decided to clean some residual carbon from the valves, while doing that I accidentally tap the lead terminal from the alternator with a small screwdriver grounding the terminal thus creating a spark, short circuit. (this is totally my fault for not disconnecting the battery before performing the work) I knew there and then that damage was done.
After putting everything together, I tried to start the car to no avail, I have power and all dash lights come on, I physically, test probe, checked all the fuses in the trunk, engine bay, and FEM near the footwell, all fuses are good. I check for power in the following locations, starter motor lead has power, DME has power. I scan the car and a mirid of codes are present. (see list) Could it be the IBS, the starter relay, park relay, or did I burn the DME? The car is showing ABS/chassis stabilization/drivetrain malfunction. Any suggestions, troubleshooting direction?
Thanks Jose.
