Interested in a FSC code for BMW Apps.

Is the process the same for F20 HU_Champ2 and F31 HU_NBT?
What is needed apart from said FSC code to get it working?
F20 has combox in trunk, have already coded Enhanced BT with working album art from USB, 2 BT devices, BT streaming etc.

Would it be possible to grab the FSC code from my F31 (which has HU_NBT) and use it in my F20 (HU_CHAMP2)?

I guess I'd need to change some VIN numbers in the HU. But the question is... do NBT FSC codes work on old HUs?

 

Not possible. You can't use Donor FSC Codes unless you also use an Emulator / Activation Module, and then you need entire matching FSC Code set, not just a single FSC Code.

Even if you could, it would not matter as CHAMP Head unit is not capable of BMW Apps anyhow.

Date of manufacture is irrelevant. If you have CIC and v.40 or v.41 firmware, 9C FSC Code is not needed. The tradeoff is you have to run very old firmware and any new bugs fixed and / or features added since .43 would be missed.

I'm also interested in the FSC code for my E84. I have succesfully made a retrofit with CIC + Combox. So how will this play out when the CIC vin differs from the orginally car VIN?

If you have CIC Retrofitted, and you want BMW Apps, you need 9C FSC Code based on CIC VIN, and you must be using an Emulator / Activation Module for CIC Activation, not Script Activation. PM sent.

And, you cant take any 9C FSC, this FSC must be for the same VIN as the others.

Yes, I explained in my reply to his PM, that his best bet in this case since he has emulator is to simply replace the entire set of FSC Codes with a newer set containing 9C rather than ordering a 9C for his current VIN.

Yes, I know this. I have done it many, many times.

I am referring only to the instances you mention where "chinese emulators (most of them install these) are sending wrong can message". I would expect that not just BMW Apps is affected in this case, and that Navigation and Voice Control are likewise affected.

 

Right, it is enough to install the cheap chinese can filter to get the kcan error messages.
