What scanner are you using?

I don't recognize that format at all.

Is the car in limp mode?

Have you check the harness going to the MAP sensor?

 

the scanner is from BMS JB4, the car is working fine, no error code on the dash board.

where is the harness going to the MAP sensor? a photo?

 

Check the attached document, and please update us with the results since i have the same problem but i dont have the time to check it

Resurrecting this 2 yr old thread... so my wife's 2012 528i is having this same exact error code. I searched on google and this thread came up on top.

I'm using this Foxwell code reader I got from Amazon:

I don't drive the car regularly and my wife originally said that she felt there's something different about the car. I test drove it the other day and here's the symptom that I noticed: when the engine temp has gone over the quarter mark, the radiator fan would kick in at what seemed like max rpm. From inside the car I could feel vibration on the steering wheel when the fan kicked in.

I plugged in the code reader and this is what I got (see photos). I reset the CEL but it came back the next day.

Car is 100% stock. Car is driveable and not in limp mode.

Dealer asked $250 just to diagnose the problem. Going to look for indy, but wondering if anybody here can help?

 

Were you able to download/view the attachment PDF in Post #4 ?

When the car is "cool" / before the fan comes on and you have CLEARED the fault code, does the code return right away- or when the fan kicks on?

 

Yes I was able to see the PDF.

I'm not sure when the code returns... I cleared it once before and my wife said the CEL came back the following day.

 

I fixed it last week when i changed the radiator.
the thermostat cable was disconnected, you cant see the plug from above, raise the car, remove the under panel and look you can see it.

 

Hmm... interesting. So maybe I'll have to check this first. Did you also experience the same symptoms I had?

 

have the problem fixed? I habe the same code, car run fine, no power loss, only symptom is the car sometime shake at idle.
Iam about to replace the thermostat.
The thermostat will make car shake a little at iddle?

 

I also have the same problem. I can try to see if the wire is disconnected but do not have a jack. Possible to do without?

 

Do you have the same symptoms?; little shake at idle? Tomorrow ill replace my thermostat and will post if the shake goes.

 

I don't experience shaking during idle. During cold start, sometimes, the rpm will fluctuate (usually at 1k+ rpm but occasionally will drop to below 1k and then rev up again).

I did the same - Googled the code and landed here.

I too am experiencing shaking at idle soon after starting, it calms down after a few minutes once engine warms up. Started doing this about 2 weeks ago and the day after I took the car in for its 90K service/checkup.... I wonder if they unplugged it and forgot to put back.

I have the Carly app/diagnostic tool and every time I start up the vehicle CEL comes back on. Been doing a reset daily - hate to see that bring yellow CEL. First time I've had it come on so it irritates me LOL!

It's 20 degrees here now... so not interested in getting under the car to look for it :thumbdwn: guess I'll take it back so they can figure it out.
