A well-respected name in the tuning game, ESS Tuning has announced their S63TÜ ESS T-700 Performance ECU Software for S63TÜ M5/M6.

ESS has built some of the fastest BMWs in the industry and continues to carry the tradition with the introduction of their performance software for S63tu powerplant. As Southern California's premier ESS dealer, we were among the first to receive the Stage 1+ software to put to the test on our in-house dynojet to verify results on a completely stock 2013 BMW M5 test subject.

Needless to say, we were very impressed by the results. :)

ESS T-700 Flash features
- Stage 1 or Stage 1+ configurations
- Bench Flash for FULL ECU control, unlike piggyback controllers
- Optimized Throttle response in Normal, Sport and Sport Plus modes
- Reprogrammed Torque management
- Full OBD2 port access to retain diagnostics/datalogging/critical safety systems
- Top speed/VMAX removal
- 91/93 octane maps
- Removed cat check option for those running Catless downpipes (off-road use only)

Details
Vehicle: 2013 BMW M5
Transmission: DCT
Modifications: Stock (baseline)
Octane: 91 (baseline)

The charcoal filters were quickly tossed and a set of BMC Filters were added once the ECUs were flashed and run back on the dyno to gauge results with a bit of 93 octane added. With a 95whp gain and 109ft-lb. in Torque, the tune did not disappoint! The ESS T-700 Flash offers full control over the factory ECUs without relying on cheap piggyback controllers to manipulate data to trick/fool the DME while keeping full compatibility.

Flashing will be performed at EAS's headquarters in Anaheim, CA shortly. Also, greater results can be expected with a set of catless downpipes and higher octane. Stage 2 software is close to completion and will soon be offered as a package with larger turbos to those with the need for even more power.

Expect to see some quick M5s coming out of our doors soon.

Stay tuned.

I'll be watching this closely.
The goal is to for everyone to see in action at our dyno event on 4/11.

If planning on being in the SoCal area during that time, drop by!

OBDII accessible, so, this can be flashed remotely? Does this also remove CEL for catless DP and the top speed limiter?

Sorry for the delayed response, have not been getting forum reply notifications to the thread. Please PM or email me directly for the quickest response.

Tom---do you guys offer any tuning options for the N63 motor? Us 7 series guys are feeling a bit left out!
Tunes are available, I have not yet been able to get one on the dyno. Hopefully soon!

What kind of timeframe are we looking at for stage 2?
What's the price? Do we need to remove our ECU and ship it to you?
There are a couple of S2 + upgraded turbo package ESS M5s in testing now making some good numbers, we'll be updating the thread as soon as the greenlight is given

Thanks, Tom. For the group's benefit, I'll post questions here.

What's involved with the turbo upgrade? Wheel replacement or full turbo?

I'll have details later this week, as they are still being road-tested.

Any updates on the turbines and flash?

I, for one, am ok with a pair of GT2871r's poking through the hood ;)
No need for that yet, but we'll have an announcement possibly next week.

As an aside, where are you getting 93 octane gas in CA?
Limited to 91 at the pump, but 100 octane is available at select 76 stations.

Your original post indicated that you added a "bit of 93 octane" not available here to the 91 gas in order to achieve your results, hence my confusion and question. Now more confused than ever.
