Excuse my ignorance...what is claying??

1207 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  rost12
I've read a million posts about how important it is...but I have no idea what it means. I envision gray logs of clay from 3rd gray being run over my car.

- why is it important?

- how do you do it?

Sorry for the dumb question...my first fancy car & I want to do it right!!

Read this article, it explains it.

FYI, important to LUBRICATE!

Do you have to DRY the car prior to lubing it with Detailing solutions for claying? Thanks.

Ed
I think it would be a good idea to completely dry the car first since water actually has all those minerals that you are trying to take off with the clay bar :D

That's how I did it, anyway, with excellent results.
