2003 325i while replancing expansion tank the mounting plate where the tank set there a spring loader plastic cap it got broken what the purpost of that value or will the cooling system work w/o it. Thanks

That clip secures the expansion tank to the mounting plate right?? That would be my logical guess...

The part that the expansion tank connect too at bottom there's a cap that has a twist lock with a brass niddle looking valve that spring loader is it nessary to have this part intact, I broke the locking cap where removing the expansion tank. Thanks

The part not shown in this diagram but it recieving end connect to the bottom part of the expansion tank
