Hi, I have a 116i with an N13 engine. Recently i have found oil residue on my trunk and rear bumper. Everywhere is covered with thin oil residue. When i checked from dipstick there is missing some oil.

my symptoms.
- oil residue on rear bumper and trunk lid.
-i got no smoke from the exhaust pipe on idle or under heavy load
-before that under heavy load engine squirts oil from the dipstick
-because of this squirting, recently i have replaced the oil dip stick and valve cover (for new PCV).

Do you guys have any idea what is the problem?

I don't think it's a compression issue because I have no smoke, I am not burning oil.

the car has no remap, just a transmission remap.

all ideas are much appreciated.

So, if I understand correctly, there was some oil leakage before from the, which you take care of by replacing the PCV and dip stick. I assume the sprayed oil appeared after these changes were done? Or could it be that they were from before?

Yes you are correct.I washed the car after i take care of the pcv , it is not from the previous oil spill.
So, if there's oil loss most likely there's a leak somewhere. Head gasket, perhaps?

Do you think it is possible for the oil leaking from the engine compartment to go to the trunk and bumper? I thought the oil leaking from the turbo would go from the exhaust to my rear bumper and trunk lid. But I should see indirect burnt oil smoke from my exhaust heat.
I'll do a general check for oil leaks.

I got the same issue. Did you get it sorted?
Blue/gray/black smoke from the exhaust? Seems like the engine is burning quite a bit of oil to leave residue on the rear bumper.
