I've searched far-and-wide with no luck. I pulled a bozo move and tried twisting the halogen bulb to remove it. You're 'supposed' to just push/pull. Well, the bulb came out w/ the circular retaining clip.

Anyone else done this? Can't see inside to figure it out, but looks like it should clip back in; don't really want to pull the assembly for better access. That means pulling the bumper (not a great idea BMW!)

Suggestions? Experience?

It took an hour of 'fiddlin', but I finally figured it out without having to remove the headlight assembly. I forgot to take a picture of the spring when it's out :-/. However, this is what it looks like back in place. The spring goes around the Outside of the circular housing. Each of the three tension clips has a corresponding slot in the housing. I started with the bottom clip then worked on the 10 and 2 o'clock positions. One of my brand new Sylvania Ultra bulbs was bad... Leading me on another troubleshooting wild goose chase until I tried the other bulb :dunno:
