I'm thinking of buying some new rims for my E46.

The seller says that they fit F30 and E90, but doesn't know if they'll fit E46.

Maybe someone here knows?

Thanks!

Different offset. E46 is 46mm, E90/F30 are 36 mm. They will bolt up, but standard tires may rub.

I've had BMW Style 286's (in a staggered set) on my car for almost three years without a single issue. The difference between 46mm and 36mm is just .39 inches.
So it shouldn't be necessary to offset? I haven't bought rims before, so I'm not even sure what spacers are or how to account for offsets.

Thanks

OK, here`s the deal....

Bolt Center - 5 X 120 (common to most BMWs recently)

Offset (AKA/ "IS" or "ET") Between 35 and 50

Hub Centerbore diameter - 72.5 mm (measure this with a small metric ruler)

ANY WHEELS (regardless of origin) that meet all 3 specifications listed above will work just fine on an E46

Alright, thanks a lot. The rims have used on F30 and E90. As I understand, the ET of the F30 and E90 is is 36mm, while it's 46mm for the E46. Is that a big deal or might it still work?

Again, the difference in these two offsets is less than 1/2 an inch. It's not going to matter in the least bit.

And not all E46 wheels are 46mm offset.

Check the BMW Wheel catalog here: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com

You will find several examples of wheels fitting different models.

I just provided you with the wheel fitment specs for all E46s. Please re-read my post, you might be missing something....
