i got a letter from Farmers saying they can no longer afford to underwrite homeowner insurance anymore and my policy will not be renewed when it expires. what is up with this? can they be any worse than this? now insurance companies only insure areas/states that have "acceptable loss"?? so statistically they can just pack up and stop insuring everybody... this is bullshit...

i think i'm switching EVERYTHING to something else... heard good things about Chubbs.

It's Chubb and they are excellent, but you pay for it, as with most things.

Good luck!

Allstate jacked my rates up 102% this year
with no claims and a multiple policy discount.

It may be better now, but when I was shopping
around in March, I would have had to take an HO-A
policy or pay even more with the few insurers
willing to write a new policy.
