150 on my bike, and a little over 100 in my car. For some reason I "feel" safer doing 150 on my bike then in a car . . . maybe b/c the bike slows down so much quicker :dunno:

I voted for 180+, but that was on a motorcycle And I doubt it was any more than 185MPH.

Anyway as far as cars go... I took my 2nd-Gen RX-7 to top speed, which was just a little over 140MPH.

Also took Chevy truck, and Jeep Cherokee to top speed, well beyond the labels on the speedo, but I think the RX-7 was prolly faster. Just a note to parents out there... if you are really strict with curfew, expect your teenagers to speed. When I was 17, I would much rather deal with the cops than my parents.

The Jeep ('86 2.8L) was most comfortable and easy to drive at top speed, but I doubt it was much more than 100 MPH. The Chevy truck was freaking scarry, which may have been due to the huge mud tires?

130+ in my 72 Datsun 240Z about 25 years ago. 120+ in my 99 323i while driving from St. Louis to Indianapolis thru Illinois a few years ago.

Today I took my 530i up to 100 (still breaking it in, only has 800+ miles on it). Passengers in the car were amazed I had gone that fast, saying it only felt like 70. They asked for more.

I also took my 328Ci near it's top speed. ~6000 rpms or so in 5th, or 152 mph

did u get rid of the speed limiter? i dont think my car can go that fast... i think i got it up to about 125 at the back straight at TWS.

153.5 mph in my dad's 540i-6 (GPS verified since the speedo said 165!) on Thanksgiving Day, 2000. My 330i would 'only' do 131 mph (governor limited) on the same road.

I will take my 911 Turbo out to the desert this Fall when I get new tires (and have some experiece behind the wheel). In theory, I could do 165 or so.
