I would have thought you wouldn't like any tuner that didn't put out a LSD for your 328Ci.nate328Ci said:I like RD a lot. Their custom cars are amazing.
I also like Dinan too. They are very expensive though and don't make enough serious upgrades for 328sI like what they have done to older, such as their stroker engines and forced induction kits. The engineering is very good. Suposedly they are coming out with a 75hp cam/header upgrade to the E39 M5
Don't think I'm not pissed about thatalee said:

It would be a write in vote...TD said:Hmmm... No "None of the Above"?
Without posting more flame fodder, I'm not inclined to go for any "tuned" looks/products. For the types of mods I've done/might do in the future, I like UUC. But I wouldn't call them a "tuner" per se.nate328Ci said:

Who is your nomination?
I was gonna jerk his chain but he promised to introduce me to a bunch of Hooters girls when I come down for Bimmerfestnate328Ci said:IDH-
You should have left Alpina out just to spite Vince![]()
Many of tuner producs aren't flashy and sell individual products. For example, Dinan refuses to make bodykits and aero products. Steve Dinan said in BMWCAR that "We don't do show, we do go" Also, all the other manufacturers make performance products that can be put on a car without changing its looks at all. Alpina products remain closest to stock and are also very historic.TD said:

Unlike many (and this is merely personal preference) I prefer a "stock" look whether or not the car truly IS bone stock. Since I drive rather fast, stealth is good.
And, as far as overall looks go, on BMWs, I'd go with Alpina simply because their stuff looks the least like the r*cer crap the Honda boys tack on. It actually look right on BMWs (in an "Old School BMW" way). I can't say that about a lot of the stuff I've seen in pics posted in various places.
And if we stay on this road, we'll eventually get down to debating whether, say, aluminum pedals are a performance mod or a looks mod. And I don't want to take it that far.nate328Ci said:

I can't stand Hamman body kits![]()
About, Dinan, as you may or may not know, I have their software and Carbon Fiber intake on my car. I do like it a lot and don't regret getting it. I think that the problem is that there arnen't any "serious" upgrades that they make for the E46. I highly respect their tuning offerings for the E36 M3, the Superchager system is excellent. I do wish they would make a more tuned 2.8L engine and an LSD. Maybe a stage IV suspension too.TD said:

But, on a macro level, we basically agree (or at least you know what I'm talking about).
I respect Dinan's statement, although from what we've heard from 31st330i and others on the boards, I'm no longer convinced about their products.
UUC also used to be purists before they realized that there was a lot of money to be had selling trendy cosmetic mods to kids with more money than taste. Their original products (short shifters, sways strut brace, springs, shift knobs) were/are all some of the best engineered products available. And at fair prices. Too bad they now also sell "angel eye" kits, white faced gauges, wings and other trendy mods. From seeing the UUC guys post on the boards, you can tell that they're enthusiasts. I guess they just don't mind making some money too. I guess I can't blame them.
See, I like that "accessory".nate328Ci said:

I want to order this UUC "accessory" and a SSK

I installed an identical kit in my E36, can we buy it as a kit with the gauges? Installation is fairly easy except for getting in to the engine compartment for the oil temp/pressure wires, and you replace the oil pressure idiot light sender with a real pressure sender.nate328Ci said:

Right Vince 'ol buddy!
UUC sells the plate, but you have to buy the gauges from a VDO distributor. Unfortunatally, the install instructions don't come up on their site. I would have no idea how do do itvexed said:
