Finally finished prepping both of my cars for Bimmerfest

Darn, this weekend was hard work. Wash both cars and waxed yesterday, and then added the 2nd coat this morning. Had to clay and polish my wife's car because it was so damn dirty, with these large water spots AND a nasty bird shit that has etched into the paint. Clean the interior with Griot's interior cleaner, treated the rubber and leatherette parts with Griot's Rubber and Vinyl treatment. Fortunately I've already clean the inside of the wheelwells and the undercarriage last time I washed so I skipped that. Cleaned out the engine compartment in my wife's car. Probably should have done mine as well.

And had to wake up at 4:30 this morning to catch Imola...

What are you gonna do for the next week? Saran-wrap it?
I can't understand why you would need to clean the bottom of the car :thumbdwn:
Roger that !!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Did mine last weekend. Just some minor touchup this weekend and final preps. Hitting the road Friday morning for the 320 mile drive to Santa Barbara. Will be there bright and early on Saturday!!! Car will be exactly 1 year old then...

As the result of your hard work, it rained Sunday night. Oh well, I waxed my car twice Sunday. Monday, I'm taking the beater to work.
You obviously have not read my theory on why it won't rain if you Zaino your car vs. using carnauba wax:

Precipitation and the Use of Zaino

:p
In his famous speech of 1854, Chief Seattle is said to have warned his new neighbors that when one washes his wagon or horse in the Pacific Northwest, that it is indeed a "rain dance" and rain will be forthcoming 24 hours after such a cleansing of any wagon or horse. To this day, his prophocy still encompasses our current day "Seattle Rain Dance" known as "washing our car".
Sigh...Oh well, at least my car is the ONLY clean car after arriving at the office this morning. Spotless except for the dirt and crap picked up by the wheels. The wax helped a lot, all the rain water just beaded right off.

Guess I'll just have to hose it down tonight and give it another quick rinse on Friday, Speed Shine it and PRAY it doesn't rain on Saturday.
