I had an interesting thing happen today. I left my car at my dealership today for servicing. (The computer showed 500 miles left)

So, I get a call from the service department telling me the servicing is done, however, if it was OK with me, they would like to keep the car for an extra day. The service manager went on to explain how there is a fuel pump recall and there would be one that could be installed tomorrow. I immediately agreed and will pick up the car after work Friday.

How fortunate I feel for never getting stuck on the road over the last 19 months in some God forsaken place with a dead Bimmer.

I am also glad to see BMW is finally addressing what has been a problem for quite a while now. Should have been sooner, IMHO.:thumbdwn:

Has anybody gotten word yet? Or is this old news?:dunno:

Will you be getting a new Bosch pump or a remanufactured Siemens pump?

I just assumed it was going to be new. I'll have a better idea tomorrow.

It's not a recall. It's a "replace the part when the car is in the shop" service bulletin. There is another thread that posts the service bulletin and more information.
