There was a fire at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall today. The acoustics there are amazing, and the interior design set new levels for crowd-handling and comfort.

and an amazing aerial photo is below.

"The 2,200-seat building, designed by Hans Scharoun, opened in 1963 on the West Berlin side of the Berlin Wall." It always made sense to me to have one of the adjoining streets named Scharounstrasse, but I never agreed with naming the other Herbert-von-Karajan-Strasse.

Ja, I saw that in the paper earlier - cause of fire was some welding on the roof I believe.
