When I bought my car from a "lease return" center (where they go to BMW auctions to get lease return cars), the carfax came back saying that the car was a "fleet vehicle" auctioned... what does that mean exactly? i am really curious... she runs great so far... love her.

Means it was bought from a possible rental car agency, or a private corporation as a part of a "Fleet" or group of vehicles for corporate use.

Usually BMWs are executive cars that curtail only one or two owners and driven as a company vehicle before lease is over and the owner can either decide to purchase the vehicle for personal use, or to return it for another lease of a brand new vehicle with partial payments made by the company fund.

Such as, my father had a Lexus GS that he leased for awhile. He has 14k miles on it and has had it for 3 years, mainly for company errands and clients, and now that the lease is nearly over, he plans to acquire a '06 5 series with the company paying a portion of it.

So, if it's a BMW fleet vehicle, it's good as long as it's gone through inspection and passed. If it was a Jaguar fleet vehicle... Now, I'd be worried it has been with Hertz.

I was going to buy a Fleet Vehicle, it was a 2002 330ci with like 20k miles, but I opted for the 2004 325ci.

To be honest, that was part of the reason, and the seats where worn out a bit. I went with the 04 cause it was newer and still had warrenty.
