Sorry, vcm not vcu. I mean it is showing the changes when I click on read again but the auto start/stop is still not disabled. I'm just trying to figure out why I'm getting the vcm not updated message, ever ran into that message before?

 

The instructions told you to uncheck the Update VCM box under E-Sys Options. You didn't. So now you have this error.

But the error is harmless, and your coding changes were made regardless of it. So if ASS isn't working as coded, the issue is something else.

 

Hi Shawn, I have E-sys 3.23 and psdzdata 50.3 with a Code awayDKF01.est token. I am trying to code my shift paddles to work on my f20, I have changed 205 for 2TB but this didn't activate the paddles. I have seen that I need to code FA into ECUs EGS and GWS to active the S1 -S7 also but in not sure how to go about this exactly. I another post I have also seen it is possible to FDL the shift paddles under 3000 sportsschalter_alt active (could be spelt wrong) but this is where I come unstuck. the pin that I have been given with my e-sys isn't working. can you send me the links to everything I need to complete my task?

If you VO Code (FA), you do not need a PIN.

Thanks Shawn, I managed to code the new FA to EGS, however code is greyed out on GWS (there is no cafd in the tree). this has given me S1-S7 however if I manually use the shifter it changes back to M1-M7. also the paddles still not active.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

 

Not all GWS have CAFD, so unless you deleted yours, this is normal.

I think for F20 / F30 though, Paddles require wiring run to ICM. Did you add the wiring?

 

I did not, is it a simple job?

 

From what I understand it is, but I have never had to do it myself.

 

I have changed the standard shifter for the sport shifter though.

Was this COAPI-2041 error solved with the NFRM module?

I am trying to get my folding mirrors with FOB and CA to work again after BMW update.

 

BMW updated the modules and I needed SP_daten v56 (june 2015), now it is working fine again.
So try the latest daten files when you get these kind of errors.
So these errors

 

Yesterday i mapped the rear DRL and it works.
no errors that afternoon.
But when i drove to work today, the kombi told me, that the trunk is open, also the pdc doesnt work anymore, just like the rear windows.
the rear DRL still works.

the REM seems to hang.

does it just need a reset or do i need to reflash it?

what would you do?

Coding in SLC, Utah - I get it - Willing to help.

After spending the last several evenings attempting to understand FA, SVT, CAFD, and the related acronyms I finally have a basic understanding of coding. I was able to remove the Start-up Disclaimer, unlock doors at engine shut down, and display TPMS data.

I'm ready to move on to more complex coding for brake force, Lane Change Count, camera zoom, etc.

Thank you Token Master, Shawn, April One and the people who compiled cheat sheets who made customizing our rides relatively easy (after some trial and error).

The best part is my 335i starts with no error codes!

I realize that I don't have a real BMW but I hope for some clues nonetheless.

I have a 2016 MINI 2-door that I'm trying to code. I successfully downloaded Esys Launcher Premium (with TokenMaster) and PSdZData Lite v.55.4.

I can connect to my car; read & activate an FA; read the ECU; and find the 'green-checked' CAFD parameters. But, when I expand any of the parameters and click Read Coding Data, I always get a File for "cafd_****" not found [c012] error message.

Are 2016 BMWs 'locked out' of coding changes?
Do I need to install PSdZData v.56.4?

All help/tips appreciated.

yes ... 56.5 would be recommended, depending on build date ... but it appears that the ISTEP level of the car is higher than your psdzdata will support
