Hi guys looking for more help if possible? A friend I mine has an 320d e90 and is having trouble with a steering locking light! Now I've been told car should not move when light is red but it's still ok to drive! Is there any way of removing this warning and if so can anyone point me in correct direction? Is this software related and will I need any for this task? Any help is as always much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!

Connection Challenge

I just got by 2014 335 this week and attempted to code it. I was able to check the connection using ZGW-Search and I could see my VIN and other details. When open E-sys 3.23.4 and Hit connect I get the pop up, but it does not have anything in the target area and the connect is greyed out. Any thoughts on what I am missing?

Thanks
Dave

Yes. Your PSdZData is not installed properly.

Thank you - I checked them and now I am able to connect. Next issue is when I go to read I get 2 errors:
Read FA failed! Possibly there is no FA stored in the VCM CO60

and
Read FA from the Backup Partner failed. Possibly there is no FA stored in the Backup Partner or there is no connection to the Backup Partner. [C096]

Any thoughts? Thanks for the help

Try Read ECU instead of Read SVT.

Thanks to all of the information in this thread and the exceptionally helpful people in this forum, I've been able to successfully code a couple of F10's. I thought I'd post the step by step I put together from various threads as a small contribution for beginners.
Most of this is outright theft from the various documents and notes in threads :), but I wanted a consolidated document for myself. It's essentially a walkthrough of a coding session covering preparation, connection testing, pre-coding backup, editing, saving, post-coding backup, and wrap-up.
I've included a one liner indicating the basic function of each section as well as various tips found in this thread in each section. Hopefully this will be of use to some of you who are new to coding, and/or as a step by step for those who don't code frequently. Let me know if you have any suggestions for enhancing this document.

I have a strange problem with E-Sys itself right now.

Running 3.23.4, it just won't open properly on my Laptop anymore. Would show you that "Warning" and the loading splash but it just doesn't "show". It clearly shows E-Sys running on the start bar and in the task manager (under Java).

Running Windows 8.1, probably with some latest update or something that might be affecting it. Also could be Java affecting it. Reinstalling E-Sys doesn't resolve the issue.

I am running Windows 8.1 with the latest updates and have no issue.

Try deleting and reinstalling the PSdZData too.

This looks great thanks! I am getting ready to code my 2014 535d but I have a Mac. Has anyone ever successfully coded on a Mac running Windows on Boot Camp?

Actually I'm not sure about token. I have just .est file. Do I miss something like .jar? Because I haven't understood token function which is need really help? I read guides, watched short clips bu nothing...

Does TOKEN work process depend version of pzsd. and e-sys version? :dunno:

I don't know what E-Sys version you have, nor what token solution you have, but if you have >=E-Sys 3.22.5, then you need a patch to go with the .EST Token.
