Drained my oil and removed my pan in my 05 645ci and found these in the pan, looks like part of a guide or something, any idea?

Remnants of the Chain Guides?

Google might help you find images to try and match up....

Haven’t the all too common images of chain guides and failures been of white and orange and tan plastic?

Those plastic parts start out white, and darken as they absorb oil. 15 years of exposure... yeah... white to black seems possible.

My guides at 154,000 miles were just a tad lighter in color so these do look like the guides. How was it running when you found these pieces? Wouldn’t there be a huge amount of chain play in this scenario?
