front bumper strip

How many from California (or any other state that requires it) have removed their front license plate and replaced it with a bumper strip? How many of you have received tickets or warnings as a result?

need a front plate in TX

but i havent had one since i had my car (last april). no tickets, no warnings, no nothing. until last month i had the plate attached to the inside of the windshield, but no more of that either
