so today after figuring out why my front speaker is not working(thanks to rookie2008 and other members for explaining the system to me)....decided to buy the kit from advance ap...wonderful girlfriend picked it all up...and see how its going to look like...
here are some pics
put 3 x coat giving 20 minutes to dry between
kit was 20 bux and i still have paint left for at least 2 vehicles
kit contains small brush around 7mm wide brush ...also need really thin brush to cut edges close to pads, hard angles
also got black out paint for tailights...doing it tommorow but i think only will paint reverse lenses...will see
next thing is lowering springs, spacers for the rear wheels, custom exhaust:thumbup:

Nice...I've been wanting to do that. Please let us know how the caliper paint does with the 450 degee heat generated.
well its a ceramic paint...withstands up to 500 degrees for short periods of time...i believe brake are being cooled as you drive as they have cooling ducts on 7 series that cool front brakes....plus since my rotors are drilled/slotted heat disipates much quicker than with regular blank rotors...
but will have to see how it withstands:dunno:

I like how you left the silver bracket, and didnt just go crazy with the red paint.
thanks...it takes little longer since you are using small brush...it just depends..i have seen some people paint the calipers, silver bracket and pads too...didn't look too good to me

after i put 3x coat and let it dry for 20 minutes i put the silver bracket on the caliper...now i had to be careful and make sure i do it right the first time...used a big flat screw driver to snap bracket into place...of course paint came off but used a thin small brush to touch it up....especially rear calipers are harder to do because of design and sharp edges...but if you take your time the outcome is good..

red looks good to me ... i have seen some people paint their caliper aqua blue which looks good too

i wish i had money for BBK but for now this has to do

If you worried about it...Go with G2 calipers paint i had it on my X5 still on it for the last 7 years..no chips no peeling..
do you have any pics of how the calipers look??? thx
Nice job. I used same paint on my 300c back in 06. To this day calipers still look the same as the day I painted them. Itll hold up.
thx...so its really a good quality paint then...you painted yours and 6 years later still holding....thats awesome:thumbup:
Painted mine 3 yrs ago still there :)
same brand paint or different?
NO it was different..
It was just the spray bottle don't remember the name
cool...btw your xenons are oem or aftermarket? they look bluish
Wow man! We definitely need some more pics of your car. Those wheels look great :D Oh and, how are the drilled/slotted brakes?
thanks ... tell u what drilled/slotted rotors are difference like day and night...they bite hard and as u know 7 series oem brakes are perfect but once you go to either slotted or drilled or both you can stop on a dime...brake pads are semi metallic and they hold pretty good...brake dust is not so bad at all
