We live South of the cities. Prior Lake/Shakopee area.
We are having another mild winter, still . . . If it wasn't for family ties we'd be headed for warmer weather in a heart beat! I enjoy the sun and the heat too much to be considered a true Minnesotian, even though I was born and raised here.

The pounds of salt they place on the roads are murder to cars. My husbands Oxford Green 330i sometimes looks white, even though he takes inpeccable care of it. Plus, the snow tires, I am told, take away part of the joy of driving a BMW. I will have to find out for myself next winter. I take delivery end of March. I shouldn't have to mess with them for a while.

Where do you reside?

PS. Is it safe for me to admit relations with ff?

I moved to Washington state at age 18. The last year I lived in Minn. in 1979, it set a record for cold...32 days without getting above 0 deg. for the high temperature. Being in the construction business at that time, I moved west in pursue of an aviation career. The rest, as they say, is history.

My wife is looking closely at the 325XI's now...she must have AWD due to her job and our location(Think big hills with snow now and then, but mostly just rain)

You're 90% of the way to being an enthusiast, sweet thang. You'll soon own the right car (with a 5 speed manual trans., no less!! :thumb: ). You already admitted that you want something that handles and feels like [a BMW]. Now all that's left is to desire to spend every waking minute behind the wheel. Trips to the grocery store should take you at least 100 miles away from home, and consume greater than half a day of your time. You should find yourself regularly driving to Atlanta to buy a gallon of milk. You'll get there. Lord knows you've put enough "fun" miles on my 330... :lmao:

I always thought that BMW should hire whoever came up with some of the recent Acura comercials. You know, the clam chowder/meal (lunch?) date/cable guy waiting ones.
