Hi all,

I absolutely love my car but its only downfall is its total lack in power, I mean average 2L 4cyl engines put out around 115kw, but the E46 318i only pushes ~105kw? :(

The thing that sh!ts me is a 1.8ltr Toyota Corolla is faster  I know there is no comparison but still..

Considering BMW are a performance manufacturer, why did they under power this car so much?

Is there anything simple you can do that doesn’t require adding forced induction or going to the 325i to bump the power up?

Are there performance chip companies that specialises mainly in bmw?

Cheers

dude you need a cold air intake will add 8 bhp or so, then chip it from superchip.co.uk or a likeweise company. That should add 20 or so hp. Makes a good enough difference. Then fuel it with high octane. For a race you can add those small bottles of very high octane fuel, they make the car much faster till that tank of fuel lasts.

If your looking for something serious add a supercharger
