anyone who has the actual magazine article: does it list the 0-60/5-60/ 1/4-mile times? if you could list a few here that'd be great!

thanks,

He's funny as hell, and not afraid to walk the thin line of a non-PC writing style. Very good IMO.

I believe the 330i was 7.3 0-60, G35 was 7.1. I know that my 323i is faster than both after chipping it and probably before. I think 70% of E46s are step, so my 323 is quicker than all of them. Hmm.

If I remember right, 0-60 is ~7.8s. So, a 330i Step is still faster than a 323 5-sp no matter what. Plus, in the real world, 98% of the drivers can't shift as fast as those who achieved those marks... ;)

PS: The last period above wasn't meant to question your driving/shifting skills. Just an observation...

It's gotta be the testing conditions. In all other tests G35 and 330i do the 0-60 in around 6.5 seconds. As for the outcome, I think it's biased. I remember reading the chart at the end of the article w/ the 330i getting a 9 for value and G35 getting an 8. That's just not right.

Actually... Looking at article right now

Here's the 0-60 scoop on all cars in the test:

Acura 3.2CL Type S: 7.6
Audi 3.0 CVT: 7.2
BMW 330i: 7.3
Infiniti G35: 7.1
MB C320: 7.6
VW Passat W-8 4Motion: 7.7

Oh, and one more thing. The 0-60 on the 323i 5sp is 7.2 sec. I had one for 3 years. So, RMART is hanging right here with the best of 'em . Now if you compare 5sp to 5sp...

BMW claims 323i 5-sp 0-60 @ 7.1 secs and several mag tests confirmed. My car has the Dinan chip which made a noticeable improvement in acceleration.
