greasy spot on headliner

1830 Views 8 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  toniarae
Last week when my car was in the shop for service, a mechanic got a couple of grease spots on my headliner. Does anyone have any suggestions how to remove this without ruining my headliner and possibly just smearing the grease. By the way my headliner is sand color. TIA!

JPinTO Thanks for your reply. I think I'll order some because I'm just afraid anything I have around the house or garage will only smear the grease and it will look worse. FYI-you may want to post something soon because your post number is at "666". Anyway thanks again.

One of the guys in our club had the same problem. his kid was standing through the sunroof (car was parked) and got the grease from the sunroof all over the headliner.

He used Griots Garage Interior cleaner and it worked great!

One caution...when you clean one spot you will end up cleaning the entire headliner.

Wheww! Close one!
in_d_haus- Thanks for your reply. I tend to be obsessive with my cleaning, so you are probably right about my cleaning the entire headliner. My next door neighbor tends to kid me everytime I wash my car that I am going to wash the paint off.

Do NOT under any circumstances browse properautocare.com's site. It is hazardous to your pocketbook if you are a detailing junkie! :D
JPinTO I'll try to follow your advice on not visiting that website. But, I'm such a detail freak that it will be hard not to just glance at it for a minute or two, or three or four, or......
