For those of you with Android phones, what exactly does 6NR get you in terms of options?
I have a 2013 F30 with CIC, Combox Media and 6NH ( Convereted to 6NK). With 6NR will I be able to control spotify through my i-drive controller ?

On Android you get Last Mile, Twitter, Eco Pro Analyzer, RSS Feeds, and most valuable, audio over USB. That's it. No multimedia apps like Spotify or Pandora - www.bmw-carit.com is too busy showing off their 'projects' on the web sites - they can't be bothered to include some useful features or improve compatibility of the junk Connected Drive app.

Hallo,

with CIC and Combox, BMW apps will only work with iOS devices, so iPhone and or iPod.
Android phones are supported only with NBT professional systems...

What about buying an iphone 4 and plugging it into the USB in the armrest, then having it connect to an Adroid phone via a WiFi hotspot?

Yes, that is how I had it working, with an iPod running Connected Drive App and using my Balckberry HotSpot.

Hi shawn, I kindly ask for your assistence for activating 6NR

As I wrote my car is a 11/2012 F31 equipped with 6NF external music interface to smartphones, 6NL connection bluetooth and USB devices, 609 Navi professional (HU_NBT), 612 BMW Assist, 614 Internet preparation, 615 extended BMW online information and BMW online.

For activating 6NR I followed your instruchtions.
Bought a FSC for my VIN, edited FA and added 6NR to it, wrote it to car, upgraded the FSC to
diagnistic Address 63, application number 156, HU_NBT, uprade index 1. After this I checked FSC Status and got:
AppID 156
UpgradeIndex 1
SWTType SWTclassic full
FSCStatus accepted
FSCCertStatus accepted

So I think I have the right FSC and it is activated.

For coding I red back the new FA from car, checked if it´s the right one with 6NR included. Red SVT(VCM), right-click on ECU (HU_NBT itself) and selected CODE.

Then it started to code HU_NBT but finished it with error:

[HU_NBT - 63] "finalizeECUCoding" wurde beendet.
[] Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten, bitte überprüfen Sie die Log-Dateien!

After that Apps were not in the menu. So I FDL coded all items with A4A and set them to active, this wirked fine without errors.

Now Apps appeared in the Connected drive Menu, and below Apps there was the topic "Communication assistent". I started it and it told me to connect my phone, I did this and the system recognices my phone (Iphone 5 with IOS 9.3) when I put it into the snap in as well as when I connected it via cable to USB. After that the system told me to start an app on my phone, but when I start th "BMW connected" App nothing happend. Neither the car checked this App, nor the app found a connection to the car. With the APps menu "check connection" it tells me that ther is no connection to the car. Now I´m a little confused.

Why do I get an error when I VO code the HU_NBT?
Why sees my car the phone, but dose not see the started App "BMW connected"
Why does the App not find a connection to the car although the car sees the phone.
What did I wrong?
