I'm looking for a guide how to import FSC 9C code with E-sys or any necessary software I might need. I have not yet bought any code, suggestions are wanted. My BMW-shop offer 6NR code for $ 233, but would not want to encode it because I have retrofitted my Combox. Can there be any problems when I have retrofitted a German Combox? I do not use the Combox-VIN, but changed to the Car-VIN (Sweden). Internet and Live works. 6NF USB-dock does not work, but I think it is because that there is no cable to CIC when all three video inputs are occupied with TV, DVD changer, Night Vision, Rear seat ent. Pro. I have changed production date from 0908 to 0312 in VO, för CMB_media and HU_CIC, if I change for all modules I got some errors (seatbelt and Fuel), is that normal? Thanks in advance :)

Hello,

Please PM me the contact info for generating a 6NR FSC code. I also plan to use ISTA/P to import the code to the car...is your source providing a native ISTA/P code or do I need to convert/encode it first in order to import it to ISTA/P?

Thanks!!!

It is as cn555ic wrote. For Exx, without ICOM, you can't do anything unless CIC is activated using an Emulator.

Hi Shawn,

need complete package of FSC (1B,17,19,28) for my retrofitted CIC, does your source provide them also?

Thanks a lot for information
You want OEM FSC Codes with VIN Matching your car, or you will use an Emulator and can use any other set of FSC Codes with different VIN?

Yes, so long as when you flash NBT, you manually specify the VIN that matches the Donor NBT VIN / FSC Codes as opposed to taking VIN from FA during Flash, which would change NBT VIN and deactivate all the FSC Codes.

You would need to then use an Emulator though for the Head Unit to work since it's VIN would not match car VIN.

Hi Shawn,

Let me start with saying thanks for all the help. You helped me get my NAV current on another thread. I'm reading about all these different versions of BT and other car features. This is what I know about my car:

535I 2013 (Sept 2012 production) with NBT nav
S6NFA
S6NLA
S6NRA
etc, I can look for more via the VIN decoder if you need me to.

1. My understanding is I should see weather when I zoom out to 10ml without a subscription (do I need a software update?)
2. How can I tell what software I'm running and if I should bush the dealer for an update?
3. It seems that after July 2013 Android support was added, is there any easy way to update for this? (I can stream via BT and see SMS via BT but it says unsupported when I plug in via USB) Iphone and Ipod work.
4. I tried to update bluetooth via bmw.com/update but is says I'm current. See attached pic, I thought there was a newer version.

I'm fairly comfortable with Esys thanks to you I have enabled:
TMPS details
open and close via comfort access
no nav disclaimer
fogs stay on with high-beams
Still having issues with auto-mirror fold but I will work on that based on some other tips I have seen posted.

Thanks.

Does your car have Option 6AM Real-Time Traffic Information?

NBT had a bunch of updates beginning with 0713 builds. Android Support, SIRI Support, Volume Overlay, to name a few. If I remember right, NBT needs at least ISTA/P 2.50.4 firmware, which is I-Step F010-13-07-506. You can check your I-Step as follows:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13159662&postcount=1403

If you cant convince your dealer to program your car, you can flash NBT with E-Sys, PSdZData Full version, and ENET Cable. You will need to put the car on a commercial grade charger, good for 50 amps or more.

As for Bluetooth Update, the readme file from bmw.com/update will state what the latest TX/MX versions are. If you have those same versions, then you are current. If you do not have those versions, and performing the USB Update does not take you to those versions, then you are being held back by the NBT Firmware.

Thank you I will check with esys this weekend. I do have 6AM real-time traffic.
Do you know what firmware we need to be at for the voice button to operate siri or samsung S? I can see texts but not respond.

Regarding the bluetooth, I'm confused because this is whats in the readme:
TN-2.34.1
***9655; MN-2.18.2, TN-2.18.5
***9655; MN-1.37.3, TN-1.37.10
***9655; MN-1.23.7, TN-1.23.15
***9655; MN-1.21.6, TN-1.21.15

And my car says
MN-002.038.015
TN- 002.038.015

So does that put me ahead or behind since I have 3 digits per section.

Istep- upgrade to latest 52.1 - 6NR lost

@Shawn, just please a question - I have flashed my car completely with Esys and Enet going from F025-11-03-512 to F025-14-03-504. Just a big jump:p

Ofcourse I expected that I will loose 6NR function when leaving Ista 42.x (free). I have a 6NR FSC from another car for another VIN and I cant put him into CIC, by normal method (Upgrade FSC or Write FSC). Yes I changed VIN in CIC to match VIN of FSC in order to get him in. I know that if I will get him in, he will be rejected, but it is not problem.:)

Do you have any other "Shawns magic" how to get him into CIC ?

1) You can't just add 6NR from another VIN, you need a complete set of FSC Codes. They can't be mixed VIN.

2) What is the error you get while Importing? Is it a creation date error?

Thanks so if thats the case what do I need to do to make Android support and push to call siri so Samsung S to work? Is there still newer code I should ask my dealer for since I'm going in for service next month? I want to make sure I have the latest code for the steering too.

Thanks and happy labor day,
Josh

Your dealer needs to program your car with latest ISTA/P, then when you get it back, depending on car build date, Siri and Android support will already be working, or you will have to code it.

If it comes back not working, then I would just leave FA Production date alone, and FDL Code NBT as follows:

CE_DEVICE_SPEECH_RECOGNITION = aktiv
A4A_ANDROID= aktiv
