Hello people ive searched and searched and i cant find a hand brake mechanism removal.. I just bought this 325i 1992 sedan and its broken. I want to fix it but i was hoping for a little light before i end up braking it some more..the teeth on it are broke and it jerks left and right. I found the adjustment diy but it didnt show how to remove brake lines from the mechanism itself just loosen so idk.. I have taken the center console apart to look at it and see but it got a little dark and i cant see. I have a replacement part already so i hope someone knows something by morning. Thank you for your time and help.

To remove the emergency brake cables from the handle you remove the nuts, then pull up on the handle while pushing back on the cable ends.

Yeah you can't really screw it up just don't loose your nuts...:-/ I'm leaving it like that.

haaa.. nop got them in my hand =). got it done today thanks guys.. so many little issues with the car.. i like it but im afraid of this check engine light and stuff.. idk what it all means.. havent pulled codes yet so we'll see. heres a pic

From left to right:

Check engine (self explanatory)

Check (look to your right at the OBC -or multifunction display if you have fewer than 18 buttons- it has an message for you)

Brake pad wear sensor needs replacing

air bag light. -usually the passenger occupancy sensor-.

not very experienced in bimmers so hope the info im getting is legit. thaks anyways i appreciate the help
check light was over a license plate bulb out... brake lights isnt too bad just find time.. srs light is ok could be bad if i have to buy many little parts to fix.. and check engine is over icv... for now
