Are there any concerns or has anyone had a problem taking the Z4 through a car wash?

Just make sure it is in the closed position...you will have no problems.

The manual advises against Brushless car washes. To be honest, I dont think the high pressure sprays are good for the seals. Especially around the door. I went through one recently and noticed a small leak around the door window sill next to the winshield. Ive never had the issue with a traditional drive through

I NEVER took my E89 to a mechanical car wash. I take it to touch-free car washes once a month, before I wash the car by hand, on my own.
I never had a problem with it

The top is fine.

The major issue are the frameless door windows. They can be jerked around quite a bit.

I would never put my baby through a car wash.
