well, you asked and everyone knows how honest I like to be....

driving a long way only to get stuck in a traffic jam is not my idea of fun. :( the thought of 1000 cars swarming a car dealership is well, simply not appealing to me. I do that every day driving into silicon valley. I want to spend my weekends getting AWAY from that sort of thing.

the one reason I did want to come down was to meet you and the other regulars that I've been chatting with for so long. :) I'm sure we'd have gotten along well.

I'm an engineer so my commute model is different.... leave the house at 10AM, get to work by 11AM. go to lunch at 11:30AM. leave at 8PM get home and work some more over the work provided high speed connection. :thumb:

I appreciate your candor, but......

That's like saying you'd blow off Woodstock in 1969 ~ just because there was going to be a lot of people there...

(j/k)

Wish that you coulda made it...

get your facts straight jon! I blew off woodstock in 69 because I was only three and nobody would sell me any alcohol or drugs. I had a hard time getting a date as well.

besides.... like I've said. I grew up in the car biz. you know how many car shows/events I've been to? *sigh* now I have to do it all over again with computer trade shows, conferences and the like.

and unlike computer trade shows, you don't have booth bunnies and freebies. :lmao:

still, I hope everyone else has lots of fun!!!

Hey now!

I was only eight at the time, and I didn't have any trouble...

I still remember the chant" "Gimme an "F", gimme a "U", gimme a "C",... What's that spell?"

Jon, I was at Berkeley, and I didn't do drugs. That's why I wasn't at Woodstock.
how could you be at berkely in the sixties and not do drugs. you would have at least gotten a contact high walking past people's park, no? ;)

Ok Dave

I was in Berkeley 1962-1967 and again 1971-1975. I missed the really bad time in between, but I did see Mario Savio and Jerry Rubin. I was/am an Engineer and we all went to class in the midst of the chaos revolving around us. :thumb:

I will miss bimmerfest because of work constraints. The drive down and backwould be fun.
