Hi, I have a problem, this morning I started my car, turned heater to screen, air was blowing fine but the was a squealing noise, after driving for a while I noticed the fan had stopped. Has anyone had this problem? Is it the fan or could it be the Heater Blower Fan Motor FINAL STAGE Resistor? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
John

The squealing would lead me to believe you lost your fan motor. The FSR dying would not make that noise.

Though in 90% cases FSR goes bad,
If you a pretty good with electrical stuff - you can relatively easy test if it is FSR or blower by bypassing it - connecting +12 V and GND to the right pins to test blower at highest speed. (with ignition ON)
If turns - means blower is good... -> replace FSR

Here are instruction how to find/replace FSR
https://www.pelicanparts.com/techar...ELEC-Blower_Motor_Final_Stage_Replacement.htm

Just unplug the connector to FSR - get familiar which pin is which and test if you have +12 on pin 2 and in the plug shorten: pin 1 & 4, AND pin 2 & 5 (on the cable plug with ignition ON)

- Jumper in #1 and #4: completing the ground circuit
- Another jumper in #2 and #5, feeding the blower with full 12V, it will run at max speed.
