There's a mystery cable that's not plugged into anything in the battery compartment of my 2006 325i. I'm not sure what this cable should be connected to, and I couldn't find any missing connectors in the area. Could someone check their battery compartment and let me know where this cable goes?

In case you're wondering, car is working fine.

the answer from a similar post by KeithS:

"Thats a leftover from the remote battery disconnect system used when the car is shipped over from Germany. It is necessary to completely disconnect the battery so it will not be dead when it reaches the US. The dealer removes the guts of this system prior to delivery (I'm sure they reuse the parts). The other end of that cable is under the back seat on the right side."
