Hi i have a 1995 BMW E34 520i with the M50 6 cylinder with VANOS.

I stripped the engine down and found the head was badly cracked.

I was supplied a new engine and took the rest of the old one out and installed the new one using all the stuff bolted to the old engine.

I have just realised when i went to bolt on the oil pipe for the vanos unit the the engine was infact NON VANOS.

Can i just change the inlet camshaft and sprockets and bolt on my old vanos unit?

Someone help my out the s##t pleeeeeeeeessseee

Thanks
Stuart

Check for parts interchange on real OEM. I think it will work but you should double check.
The other option would be converting the ecu and wiring to non-vanos (if you ever plan on adding power this is a good thing as the non-vanos engine is stronger).
