Using the calculator on edmunds.com, I'm coming up about $70/month higher than what is advertised on the bmw site. MSRP as advertised is 39,650. Can anyone else work back into these numbers using the residual 59% and MF of .0024? Trying to calculate the payment on a 328xi with an msrp of 36700. Thanks

Well, first, you should be aware of the fact that in order for a customer to acheive the numbers in BMW's ad, it requires the dealer to kick in 4.41% ($1750 against an MSRP of $39650) as well. With that said, take an MSRP of $36700 and subtract $1618, your $3500 cap reduction, and BMWs $1500; and there's your adjusted cap cost. The balance of the customer cash due at signing (approx.$1500) handles the acquisition fee from BMWFS, cap cost reduction tax, and the security deposit (equal to your payment rounded up to the nearest $50).

The 59% residual ($21653 in your case) indicates 15,000 mi/yr. Subtract that from your adjusted cap cost, and there's your depreciation. Add that to your cap cost and multiply the total by .0024. There's your interest. Add the two and divide by 36.

Don't forget, you're still responsible for license and registration fees up front (that's not figured into the $4994 because they don't know where you live), and sales tax on your payment monthly (not figured in for the same reason), and whatever CT has in the way of nickels and dimes.

I haven't used the calculator at edmunds.com, but using this procedure and/or subtracting the required discount expected of the dealer to your previous calculation will probably get you a whole lot closer to jiving with the national lease ad- unless, of course, I jacked something up :dunno: (totally possible, as I'm in hour 11 at work on my 7th consecutive day, and pretty whipped).... :yawn:

Ok, this can be calculated however the ad is without tax and registration fees. If you let me know what your tax rate and license fees are, I can give you a hand.
