2015 BMW 320i

Found this little black box under driver side carpet foot panel, I unplugged it and the lights are still on.

I searched the part number but it doesn't come up with anything online?

What is it? Anyone help?

Globaltrack GPS LTE H110v1 Quick Connect. I'm guessing it's a car tracking module.

Means the OP would be paying a subscription service fee if it was active. My '18 had it originally installed, I told the dealer, I did not want it.

How did you know about it, to have it removed?

I believe, once upon a time, some people in some geographies could get an insurance discount for such a device. It made vehicle recovery faster, in the event of theft (faster recovery usually meant less, or even zero, damage). Much of that ecosystem has been replaced by OBD2 GPS and accelerometers to incentivize mild driving, not just recovery:

BTW, if you're going to return, I think you'd want to be here:

This is the F15 forum, which is for X5 SUVs.
