if youre looking to swap from the I6 to a V8, theres the complication of the steering mechanism being different, as well as the front subframe, trans choices, modules (particularly the DME and EGS), and programming factors to consider in. if you want to go this way, unless youre well versed in doing all this, id get your hands on a 540/6, theres not a lot more to gain in $/horsepower, bit itll give you a power increase youre looking for. if its something along the lines of an LS3 swap youre looking in to this has been done, theres lots of threads on the other forum from folks who have done this.
