hey guys quick question...

When im drivin round normally, or driving the ass off my bimmer, as soon as it starts to go above 4000rpm, i get a horrible "hissing" noise. My suspicions are a vacuum leak, however im really not too sure...

Any help appreciated...

Hey man. As Pirate said, mostly check the ribbed pipe from the MAFsensor to theintakes.
Cracks are hard to find, but its most likely from there. Good luck man!!

if its not that or a heat sheild, i think i have the same thing but my noise is that the catalayic converter is funked daddy up. i read this somewhere:

"You may have a plugged catalytic converter and that hissing you hear is the exhaust trying to get out wherever it can. This may also explain the loss in power and mileage."
