Yesterday my wife wanted to commute in the Z3 so I checked the coolant level and looked it over. I added a few ounces to bring it up to the cold-fill line. Unfortunately I failed to fully tighten the coolant cap.

We met in town for dinner after work and then went to a mid-week event and when she parked a puddle formed underneath the front. So I checked it and the coolant was down maybe 2" from the cold fill line. There was coolant spotted around the fill-cap so I checked and sure enough, doofus had struck.

We swapped vehicles; she took my truck and I drove the Z home. The temp gauge stayed steady as usual and it did not leak again when I parked at home. The oil is fine and there is no sign of moisture.

It took less than a pint of coolant to top it off and this morning it has not moved so I'm thinking "no harm - no foul."

Is there anything in particular I should watch for (air in the system, something else?) or just make sure the cap is tight and keep moving?

Thanks in advance -

I would bleed the system, just to make sure.
