I own an E60 BMW. A few days ago I noticed a very annoying clicking noise inside the cabin. At first I couldn't identify where it was coming from. It seemed like it's in the dash, steering column, sun roof, ceiling, etc. After a few days I realized that the hood is loose.

When I press on the top of the hood near the windshield it has give and bounces up and down a fraction of an inch creating the annoying clicking noise. The hood is not tight near the windshield. It is fine on the lower part by the grill. The noise is audible inside the cabin and I need to get rid of it.

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on how to do that? Is there an adjustment anywhere on the hood the I can use to adjust the hood so it gets tight again?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Sounds like maybe one of the bolts is loose. Never looked at the E60 hood, but typically, a car has some play in the bolts that hold the hood on to the hinge so you can adjust the body panels a bit for a perfect fit. If a bolt is loose, that could be your problem.
