Hood Liner

I saw this Corvette at the local car stereo install bay and one thing about it really caught my attention. The hood liner cover had graphics on the inside, well you will see the pictures. I got to thinking how cool it would be if I could get my hood liner done with the BMW M Logo. I am wondering if anyone has seen something like this before.

It's the liner from a '99. They quit using the embossed liners sometime during the '00 model year, I think. I got that one from Dan's race car and painted it by hand.

I just used craft paints from Home Depot - "Painter's Touch", made by Rust-Oleum. So far they've held up fine. Other people who have done this have also applied a clear coat for extra protection but I didn't. It's been up to Homecoming and back (from Florida) several times and so far so good.

The hardest part is doing a nice clean circular edge. The liner material is kind of fuzzy so you have to be really meticulous. I ended up free-handing most of it. Choose a day when your nerves are steady and your caffeine intake is optimal!
