Once a year
I use BMW's synthetic oil
I don't put more than 4000 miles a year the Z3C so I feel Once a year is good.

I bought my 2000 Z3 at 42,000 miles and changed oil every 5,000 with Mobile synthetic 5 w 30. it is now at 268,600, does not use oil. Valve cover gasket changes at 140.000 and 260,000 shows no sludge at all.

268,600 miles? Holy shmoly!

Is that the Euro spec oil or just a standard Mobil 1?

5000 miles with Rotella T6 5W-40. No oil usage between changes. Have used Mann, Mahle and Hengst filters thus far.

My BMW filters don't have Mann on them.

Made in Austria.
That's weird, because my BMW filters say MANN also. They probably have a few suppliers though.

Yes, from the dealer.

I am buying more this weekend to do some oil changes. I will see if anything changed. If not, I will snap some pictures.

The MANN label is on the filter itself, on the ends if the filter. On pleats with lot number info.

My "bought from the dealer" filter look exactly like Rons (well, the last 3 digits of the part no differ, 769 instead 242 for my S52 engine).

I can't find Mann printed anywhere on the box or the filter.

Printed on the end of the flap that tuck into the box is
W RO 400g/m**2 90/90/115 76547301 Ver. 03

The W is actually an odd looking symbol of a W with a overlayed rotated 90 degree U. Some day I have to buy a digital camera.

As mentioned, I will be buying some this week and will look/post pictures.

I have a 2001 2.5l Z3 and use Mobil 1 EP 5W-30 and change it once a year, whether it needs a change or not. I guess I'm just too conservative when it comes to protecting my baby. I have about 60,000 miles on her.:D
