I've done the same on the M135i without update software (flashing), just change the production date to 0713 and the code the whole SVT tree.

Will all the old coding be saved. Or do you have to recode all the sections again?

Also will it know it's an m135i or just regular f20? So it'll code all the existing m135i to match the production date of a newly built m135i?

Did you VO Code ECU's with the modified FA afterwards?

VO Code:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

This will encode an entire ECU with all the parameters needed to support every option in your Vehicle Order.

Do NOT click Code Default Values nor Code FDL.

 

I did Expert -> Coding -> Read FA -> Save FA -> Then Edit FA -> Change the build Date -> Save FA.

Then VCM -> Load VO from new FA -> Calculate FP -> VCM Master write FA

 

None of which actually codes ECU based on new FA.

You saved it, and stored a copy in car, but have not coded any ECU based on it.

I done the ecu but still no m135i in the kombi. It still says m performance.

 

Does KOMBI => BMW_LOGO have any other choices besides AG and MPM?

 

Just those two. AG and MPM

Hmmm. Well I should have thought my charger would be adequate. If it's on supply mode it should supply the car with enough energy. What would you do?

 

In Supply Mode it supplies up to 10 Amps. If you use less than a 70 Amp charger, you run the risk of Bricking Kombi. It's your risk to take, not mine, so what I'd do is irrelevant. I have a 70 Amp Charger though.

 

How log does the flash take. If it's under an hour then I think it should be fine.

Here are the basic steps:

Go to Comfort Mode => TAL-Calculating
- Read and Save FA
- Activate FA
- Read and Save SVT Actual as SVT_ist
- Create an SVT Target
Under KIS/SVT Target Calculation Strategy, select Complete Flash
Select I-Step (shipm.) to match your original I-Level as read and shown in VCM I-Step (Shipment)
I-Step (target.) will be unselectable as it is fixed based on current PSdZData I-Level
Do a KIS/SVT Target Calculation and Save as SVT_soll
- Do a TAL Calculation and Save as SVT_tal

Go to Expert Mode => TAL-Processing
Load TAL (SVT_tal)
Load SVT Target (SVT_soll)
Select "Read FA" button.
Check radio button for "read VIN out of FA"
On ECU Tab, uncheck let top box in column "All" (All checked boxes should toggle to unchecked)
On ID Base Row for Kombi, make check boxes in blFlash, swDeploy, cdDeploy, and ibaDeploy columns.
Press Check software availability
Press Start and it will proceed with processing TAL to flash Kombi with new firmware.

No. E-Sys will shut down engine and put car in Transport mode during flash.

You need a good charger.

Doh! You are correct. He would have to flash Combox or MULF.

I got also the usb port where i copy music and maps to hdd, but not the one in the middle console.
