My car is dead and I want it to go into neutral. Does it have a shift lock and if it does. How do I get to it?

P.S. It's automatic :( and I want the car moved out of my garage. My battery's dead. I can't buy a battery right now.

Replace the battery with a charged one, put the key in the ignition as if to start the car, turn to the on position, shift it into neutral. You _may_ have to put your foot on the brake while doing this. I can't recall if there's a brake interlock or not.

Why do you want it in neutral? DO NOT tow it.

It must have been the supercharger that killed the car, you may need to have another custom battery installed in the trunk compartment :dunno:

What part of my response did you not understand? I didn't tell you to BUY a battery. You can borrow one long enough to shift the car into neutral. Sheesh.

Some people just can't be helped.

The ignition is out so I can't crank it. That's why your idea doesn't work. I would have done that if my ignition worked.

You don't have to crank it to be able to shift it into neutral

Are you saying you have removed the ignition switch ? You can jump the harness with a test light and shift it, after you borrow a battery to power the car :dunno:

Skillet77, I never told you to crank the car. I said turn the key to the first ('run') position. The energizes the shifter lockout solonoid, releasing the shifter lock (with the brake depressed...thanks Hater433:thumbup:).

Oi!
