I just couldn't believe what i was reading . These three young boys took it upon themselves to seek retribution for the wrongs that have been committed against their people. Sorry to beat a dead horse and all but this really got to me for some reason. When i was 13 i didn't think about things the way these kids do - they have all lost the joys of childhood (something i wish i could go back to relive right now). Two 14 year-olds and a 13 year-old were killed as they went to committ a suicide mission. What drove them to it? This is what their friends had to say (it really is sad when children feel this way - don't give me the "palestinian propaganda" BS, their words come from the horrors of daily living not from a bunch of adults):

At the three boys' school, their classmates seem to believe they acted on their own. They showed ABCNEWS they were prepared to follow in their footsteps.

We all know how to make explosives, one child said. A boy drew a diagram of how to make a pipe bomb.

"There are programs on the computer, and in books," said Mohammad Esaafeen. "They [Israelis]are killing us so we have to find a way to hurt them."

"We learned how to do this. We need these tools. They are killing us, you want us to just say OK? Necessity is the mother of invention," said Mohammad Jalil Al'bana.

"Kids all over the world get presents on their holidays; we get missiles, assassinations, martyrs. This is our daily life. What can we do as a Palestinian kids?" said Esaafeen.

The two reminisced about their slain schoolmates. "They were driven by their hearts," Jalil Al'bana said. "Imagine our feelings when we see every day on TV how Israel kills our people."

"During the days of the attack on Jenin, I remember them coming to school very angry, but I did not expect them to do what they did. I am sure that they did it out of anger, despair and anger over what [Israeli Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon has done," Esaafeen said.

I doubt there are many children who grow up in America that truly appreciate how good it is to live here and be an American.

These kids, were never children in the first place. They were born into a war and taught by all of those around them to hate. They never had a chance at a normal childhood. They were born into a circle of hate that will never end. A father will pass his hate to his kids and they will pass it to their friends. If those kids are lucky enough to make it to adulthood they will pass the hate they learned from their parents onto their children. The kids on either side see their enemies killing their family and friends. This has been going on for decades. This has been going on, on a national scale. Mob mentality rules. Sadly, I don't see how they will ever make peace.

These kids growup into adults real quick. They need to. They have to address life and death situations at a very early age.

Then you have most 13-14 year olds here in America complaining and whining that they don't have enough minutes on their cell phone, or they need new Nikes because the ones you bought them two weeks ago aren't cool anymore, or they need a bump in allowance so they can buy more PS2 games. I doubt many kids truly appreciate and understand that many have fought and still fight to keep our country what it is; a place where most kids can grow up as kids and not worry about suicide bombers blowing them up when they go to the mall to get the latest N'Sync CD.

Of course this is just my brief .02 cents and does not even come close to addressing the real issues behind what is going on in the Middle East.

That is such complete BS. Consider the street children in Brazil. They have nothing to live for, society despises them and treats them like dirt. They have it infinitely worse than Palestinian youth, yet they don't go blowing themselves up in marketplaces. Children in South Africa during Apartheid didn't do so either.

Those Palestinian kids did what they did b/c society encouraged them to do so, pure and simple.

Want proof?

Palestinian society is a violent society. Kids want to be approved by society.

So don't try to capitalize on the deaths of these poor children that were made in to psychopaths by their society. :thumbdwn:

Actually, you proved his point very nicely. You showed other examples around the world where children who have no hope act in ways that is not best for them. Those children in Brazil you mentioned - they inhale paint fumes until they pass out (damaging their brain) and many die. They also become child prostitutes, drug couriers, etc.

When people have no hope they don't care about their lives or the lives of others. It's not an excuse or "BS"… it's a fact.

Another example: the kids in the street gangs in LA and other parts of the country. They commit crimes, kill each other, and generally either die young or end up in jail.

I agree that the Palestinian kids are products of their society, but you fail to acknowledge the history of hate in that region.

Sure the kids in Brazil aren't blowing each other up, but they also do not have mortal enemies living in close proximity to them.

My knowledge of the Middle East situation could be found on the back of a cereal box, but I know that the Palestinians lay claim to what was originally Palestine. The fact that what was formerly Palestine 5 decades ago is now mostly Israel, and the West Bank, and the Gaza strip play important roles in the situation. Their enemies are literally a stones throw away.

You might be right on the Apartheid reference since I have no idea on the history of that region.

Again for the most part these kids are nutured into hate by their society and their environment, a far far cry from the environment American children get to enjoy.

That's the thing: PAlestinians don't care about their children. If they did, they wouldn't teach them to become human bombs. Do you see any poor Chinese children being taught to become bombs? No. Chinese children are taught to grow up to be successful. could learn a thing or two from them.

To the PAlestinians, children are expendable. Palestinian parents make a big deal out of their dead children once their dead, but don't give a damn for them when they're alive. I can tell you that my mother would never have let me throw rocks at soldiers armed with rifles. It's a good way to get killed. If they truly cared about their children, they would tell them to get a decent education (oppressed or not, the Israelis are hardly preventing the Palestinians from getting an education).

Then again, "education" in Palestine is
History: Why we hate Jews and Christians
Math: 3 bombs * 10 innocents / bomb = how many dead innocent civilians?
Science: N/A
Religion: Why you should go and blow yourself up to kill Jews and Christians

So maybe they're better off uneducated...

The more i read replies like this...the less i have faith in the possibility of peace because of the narrow-mindedness that so many people have.

You're right, your mom would have never let you go throw rocks at soldiers - did your mom also not ever let you go out and have a beer when you were underage, and not fool around with girls, nor throw snow-balls at moving cars, nor watch porn when you were 15, nor shoot firecrackers, nor play baseball and run away when you brake someone's window, nor do all the stupid things that kids do when they are kids. If you didn't do any of those things then your were a "very good boy" (the same can't be said for me). While we did things that we knew were stupid, and palestinian kids do things that may be ill-conceived (for example if one were to attack an armed israeli soldier), the difference is what they see around them (their friends being killed, their dad shot, their mom being humiliated, their schools and homes crumbling buildings while 3 miles away other kids are living like we are here in america). Seeing these things drives innocent children to do extraordinary things (although i'm sure they may get into normal mischief as well). If you can't empathize with that so be it, but you are in no position to go around mocking people who are oppressed because you think you are better than them.
