It's from the new M3 Competition Package. Alcantara covering. Anyone have a part number and know what I'd need to fit it?
Thanks Ron. As usual, you're the best!Ron Stygar said:32 34 2 282 502 for sequential transmission and competition package.

Jay will discount 25%. Talk with him and see if he will do better. 800-530-0902.dwm said:Thanks Ron. As usual, you're the best!
I wonder what Jay would charge me for one. I'll have to give him a jingle next week.
I seem to recall that the SMG paddles are just bolted on. If I have to get them, I could remove them or find something else for them to do if they're not in the way. No multifunction button panel, makes me wonder if I can leave my slip ring as-is. As near as I can tell, this wheel came straight out of the CSL.
It was a test to see how they did.Ben Carufel said:Why wouldn't you have Andy/Jon do it, Ron?
So on reflection, would you rather have Andy/Jon do it now?Ron Stygar said:It was a test to see how they did.
No. I don't like Alcantra. It was a test to see how they did.Ben Carufel said:So on reflection, would you rather have Andy/Jon do it now?
Right, the ZHP wheel is what got me thinking in the first place, and yes I don't want the ZHP button array. I like the clean look of the CSL wheel and yes I want the titanium shadow lower trim. I just hadn't realized until tonight that the M3 Comp. Pkg. uses the CSL wheel and hadn't seen a nice big picture of it until earlier this week. No idea if there's one at NAIAS, but I'll know soon enough.Kaz said:You could also find a ZHP wheel (some people don't like em) with no SMG paddles and swap the button piece with the CSL one (32 34 7 833 936) and if you really want the titanium shadow lower trim (the ZHP one is black, IIRC) you can replace that too (32 34 7 833 354)
Is that price for the wheel and air bag? My guess is it's not.dwm said:In any event, the plan is to buy new, so I might as well get the whole shabang in one piece. Bell BMW wants $731, I'm sure Jay can beat that price.
Bell suggested retail (list) pricing is right on. They are discounting 15% from suggested retail.dwm said:In any event, the plan is to buy new, so I might as well get the whole shabang in one piece. Bell BMW wants $731, I'm sure Jay can beat that price.
Yeah, pretty funny, I was checking the pricing while you were.Ron Stygar said:Bell suggested retail (list) pricing is right on. They are discounting 15% from suggested retail.
CSL wheel 32 34 2 282 502 retails for $860.00.
Air bag 32 30 6 757 891 retails for $657.50
ZHP one 32 34 7 919 217 retails for $475.00
Thanks for the Bel llink. Good place to check retail pricing.dwm said:Yeah, pretty funny, I was checking the pricing while you were.Ouch on the airbag price.
I've never looked at swapping the steering wheel in the roadster. If I buy 502 and 891, you think it's going bolt right on w/o anything else?
I probably need to go find a ZHP in person to take a closer look.
I guess my question should be:Ron Stygar said:No. I don't like Alcantra. It was a test to see how they did.
If AGLA does good, I will be selling it for my cost.
Thank Max, he pointed me to it long ago. For others, it'sRon Stygar said:Thanks for the Bel llink. Good place to check retail pricing.
Thanks for that tip, I was scratching my head trying to find it in the ETK.I would buy the 217 to see if it works. It may bolt up but the slip ring and getting the air bag to work may be a challenge. The slip ring on the E46 is also a separate part, order wise under group 61.
Yeah, it's still in the research stage at this point. Turner wants $419 for a 'suede' steering wheel, but it sure looks like the ZHP wheel to me so it's probably alcantara. Doesn't include the airbag or the button panel. No SMG paddles though. You have to borrow one or pay to find out like I'm doing with the steering wheel switches.
what happened the 1st 2 times?Ron Stygar said:I have an Alcantra wheel being done by AGLA. It started in April, '04. It's back there for the third time. Talked with them around Christmas and they said that they now have it figured out.
Same thing that it happened to mine - they did not provide the expected quality. Mine has been there since May last year. I am patiently waiting at this point...mng said:what happened the 1st 2 times?
