i3 module encoding

Hi,

Just upgraded 60Ah to 94Ah pack using EOS tester and ISTA-D.

Mostly fine and 50% more range but has thrown up some errors.

Car is 2014 BEV with heat pump, pack came from REX. Looks like some confusion with SME coding (REX has no heat pump).

Can E-sys or ISTA -P be used to encode pack ?

Appreciate need for 13.8V PSU for latter.

Thanks,

Ista/p or ISTA Next would be my first choice for re-encoding the SME. That way it does all the post-coding follow up operations.

If it prompts for you to replace the control unit, at that point you would need to switch to E-Sys and manually encode the SME with your recipient car VO.

If you have to use E-Sys, it wouldn't be a bad idea to follow up with either ISTA programming variant and manually reprogram/code the SME again; that way it performs the follow up operations for you.

Many thanks,

Alas my Rheingoldusa copy of ISTA P doesn't seem to recognise the ENET ICOM emulator and doesn't "see! the car unlike ISTA-D which works OK (bar programming option) with Ethernet into OBD.

Unfortunately rheinholdusa dot com seem to have gone underground and all their helpful youtube videos have been removed.

Not used E-Sys before - what's best place to start?

Sorry, missed this reply.

The coding subforum here has some good guides and links to the software downloads that will get you rolling. Take your time and read the instructions, E-Sys is a powerful tool that can do wonders and also wreak havoc if you go clicking around the wrong areas.
