In addition to ff's IS300 test drive post. . .
My husband (ff) and I test drove the Lexus IS300 seperately, we had our infant son with us.

. . . was it mentioned that "The salesman" admited selling Buicks for 12 years prior. . . Couldn't trust him more than I could throw 'em.
I requested to test drive a manual transmission, after hesitation, we were underway. THEN, after I made a turn from a stopped position on hill, the ol' buzard said, and I quote "I usually insist that female clients start out with an automatic. . . but you seem to know what you are doing" He continued to woo me over by mentioning the "female friendly colors" Lexus provides, while pointing out a guady yellow.
WOW! I can't believe I didn't sign papers then and there. . .

. . . we purchased my BMW 1/2 hour later.

The braking ability of the BMW is what won me over. Safety is very important to me. The IS300's brakes felt hesitant. The seats were uncomfortable, the interior was too busy for me.
Speaking of busy interior, what are some thoughts on the BMWs 7 series new joystick system. I sat in one at the dealership the other day. . .

I sat in a silver 745i the other day before my M5 romping. I really really dig the exterior styling. Yeah yeah I know, it's Bangled, but I think in person it looks 50x better than in any pictures. Even the front end comes together more, rather than looking like a pig that just got punched.

The interior I'd say is quite luxurious. Very very roomy, and I agree, slightly busy. I was a little intimidated by it myself, I can't imagine how most of the old codgers who are buying them get along with that i-drive system. Then again, I didn't actually drive it, so who knows! :dunno:

(btw, no offense to any old codgers reading this, except Mike 325xi. :lmao: )

I do believe that salesman should be congratulated for being so sensitive to the female persuasion.

I think BMW could probably use a good man like that!

I wonder if Jon Shafer needs any salesmen out there at Cutter....?

:D

Talk about an asshole!
Yeesh.
Most of my feminine-type friends would have drawn and quartered him for that.

Feminine-type? Don't you mean FEMINIST-type?

Feminist would not be the word. :)

A couple of them call themselves "dykelings," though. :)

Yes, I have an entertaining social life. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I wanted to buy a manual IS300 at one point, but my local dealership didn't have any to drive! the shifter looks nasty in the IS300. I wish lexus would have keep the 18 inch rims that they original showed on the 2002.
