I have searched some and surprisingly found nothing about the poor roll/lateral stability of these cars on slightly uneven to rough roads. I actually requested service for this while I had the car in the shop for warranty service. The dealer said they were very familiar with this and that it was characteristic of this model.

I'm sure there are many owners that don't notice this due to several reasons, including having a previous car with similar symptoms and/or having the luxury of well built and well maintained roads.

I am hoping some aftermarket company comes out with some struts that are designed to overcome these annoying symptoms because I like everything else about the car.

Anyone have any insight into this?

I live in Maine, we have poor roads as a rule, I feel my car is compliant, stocks to the road ver well, ride quality not an issue. If you think it is drive over the same road in a four wheel drive pickup that is empty!!

It sounds like you have the regular suspension and not the sport one. If that's the case then yes you will have more body roll.

The '07 530xi I owned for three years was about the best balanced car I've ever driven. Never thought the roll was excessive at all, on any kind of road. We have our share of craters here in the Northeast. As far as my '09 535i with the sport package, I've almost forgotten what roll is, but I do have to tiptoe over the potholes.

My '10 535 Msport (same suspension as sport package) exhibits nearly zero body roll and handles oustandingly well for a 4 door sedan.
