Did a search but did not find the answer - With Inspection II coming up on my 2003 E46, I'm going to do a routine replacement of the usual failure parts e.g. waterpump, thermostat and housing, water hoses, etc.

At realoem.com I found the following three parts under "cooling system, water hoses": #5, #6, #8:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=EV53&mospid=47725&btnr=11_2200&hg=11&fg=35

05 WATER HOSE OUTLET 1 11531436410 $21.43 +core
06 WATER PIPE 1 11537502525 $24.83
-
08 HEATER INLET PIPE 1 11531705210 $24.27

My Bentley manual recommends replacing all cooling hoses every four years. Is it routine to replace these three heater hoses as well as the radiator hoses?

Personally, I wouldn't replace any of the hoses. I did the full cooling system a few weeks back and had 75k on my car. Rad hoses looked perfect. I don't think you need to replace those other hoses either. I am assuming you have 60k and not 120k on your car?
