Aside from the fact that I don't believe a thing that any insurace company says about how they rate cars without a truly independent third party source backin it up, there a couple things that I can think of. The biggest one is that their claims history on the 325 models has been slightly worse than the 323. If the 323 was already at the very bottom of the "1" rating, it might not take much to put the 325 over onto the other side. The other thing is that they may also be looking back at their old 325 claim histories (e30 old as well as e36).
